On 17th July the Archdiocese is hosting a day conference in celebration of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. "Celebrating the Gift in Sport" will explore and celebrate the interweaving of sport, disability and faith.
Glasgow 2014 will feature the largest Para-Sport programme in Commonwealth Games history! There will be 22 Para-Sport medal events across five disciplines. All the medals gained in Para-Sports are incorporated into the full medals table for the Games, and Para-Sport events are fully integrated into the schedules.
"Celebrating the Gift in Sport" will bring together leading voices in the field of disability, faith and sport in the week before the Games begin. Guest speakers include Olympic gold medal athlete Jason Gardener and former British Taekwondo champion John Cullen. Special Olympic and Paralympic athletes will also share their stories.
