Many young people from schools (primary and secondary), colleges and Universities took part in the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Great Britain earlier this year.

To commemorate the Holy Father's visit to Scotland, a souvenir DVD has been compiled which includes the events in Edinburgh: from the Holy Father's arrival to his meeting with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II; the St. Ninian's Day Parade on Princes St; the build up to the Papal Mass at Bellahouston and the crowning jewel: the Mass itself.

The dvd is now on sale in your parishes and through www.beingcatholic.org or www.priestsforscotland.org.uk and costs £10.99. As well as all of the above, there is some previously unseen footage. Don't miss the chance to pick up this souvenir edition and maybe even treat someone to a copy for Christmas!

Thank you to all the S3 pupils in St Ninian's High School in Eastwood who have come to the Youth Pastoral Centre for their retreats in November. We followed the theme "Search for him, know him and love him" based on Pope Benedict's message to young people.

S6 from John Paul Academy had a great retreat day last Friday in the hall of Immaculate Conception parish in Maryhill. The retreat focussed on "Leading a Life of Love", where the pupils examined and reflected upon the place of Virtue as part of their Leadership programme.

A new programme of XPO has been arranged for the year ahead (click on OLOC for full details). This Friday, we continue to reflect on the Holy Father's message to young people during his UK visit: "The Church now belongs to you". All are welcome (especially those aged 16-35) as we journey if faith together.

Friday 5th November at 7.30 p.m. Youth Pastoral Centre.
